# Users

> Add customers, reset their passwords, manage their devices and remove accounts.

**Users** is where your customers live. The page describes itself: *"The people who sign in to your panel. Give them access by assigning a seat."*

Every account here belongs to your panel alone. No other reseller can see them, and they cannot see anyone else's.

## The list

| Control                   | What it does                                                         |
| ------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Search email or name…** | Find a customer.                                                     |
| **All customers** | Filter the list. |
| **Seat** column           | `No seat`, or the plan and expiry — e.g. *"Basic · until 9/4/2026"*. |
| **Checkboxes** | Select customers for a bulk action. |

<Tip>
  The `No seat` rows are your follow-up list — people who signed up or lapsed but are not currently paying you.

## Adding a customer

Press **Add customer**. You need their email and first name; last name is optional. Then choose how they get in.

  <Tab title="Send an invite">
    The customer receives a branded email inviting them to set their own password.

    **Use this when** you know the address is live and monitored. The email carries *your* branding and links to *your* domain — see [Email and SMTP](/customize/email).
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Set a temporary password">
    You choose the password and pass it on yourself — WhatsApp, Telegram, in person.

    **Use this when** email is unreliable, which is common. The customer is forced to change it at first sign-in, so a temporary password never becomes a permanent shared one.

    <Note>
      Minimum 8 characters. No email is sent in this mode — delivering it is your job.
    </Note>
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

<Warning>
  Adding a customer does **not** give them access. The drawer says it plainly: *"No seat — they can sign in but have no tools."* Assign a seat next — see [Seats and plans](/panel/seats).
</Warning>

## The customer drawer

Click any row to open it.

| **Joined / Last login** | Useful for spotting accounts that never activated. |

## Resetting a customer's password

When a customer forgets their password or loses access to their email, **you fix it yourself** — no need to contact us.

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="Email a reset link" icon="envelope">
    *"Best when they can still read their email."* A branded reset link goes to their address.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Set temporary password" icon="key">
    *"Use when they cannot receive email — send it to them yourself. They must change it at next sign-in."* **Generate** creates a strong one for you.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

<Note>
  Resetting a password **signs the customer out everywhere**. That is exactly what you want if the reason for the reset is that someone else got hold of the account.
</Note>

## What you cannot change

You can reset a password, but you **cannot change a customer's email address**. Changing the address on an account is effectively taking it over, so it stays with us. Contact us if a customer genuinely needs theirs changed.

## Devices

The drawer lists every device signed in, against the plan's cap. You can remove a single device, or use **Sign out** to end every session at once.

<Tip>
  Device lists are your best account-sharing signal. One customer showing many devices in different places is usually sharing a login — **Sign out** plus a password reset resolves it immediately. You are accountable for your customers' behaviour: see [Acceptable use](/policies/acceptable-use).
</Tip>

## Removing a customer

**Remove** deletes the account from your panel. You are asked to **type their email** to confirm, because it cannot be undone.

<Warning>
  Removing a customer does **not** refund a seat you have already paid for. If they have 20 days left, that money is spent. Where you can, wait for the period to end instead.
</Warning>

## Customers signing up themselves

Customers can also create their own accounts on your panel. They still arrive with no access until you assign a seat, so self-signup collects leads rather than giving tools away.
