# Layout

> Page frame, sidebar behaviour and the header.

The frame around every page on your customer panel.

## Page frame

| Setting              | Options                   |
| -------------------- | ------------------------- |
| **Content width**    | `Centered` · `Full width` |
| **Navbar behaviour** | `Sticky` · `Scrolls away` |

<Tip>
  `Centered` reads better on large monitors; `Full width` suits dense tool grids. `Sticky` keeps search reachable on long pages.

## Sidebar

| Setting             | Options                             |
| ------------------- | ----------------------------------- |
| **Style**           | `Flush` · `Inset` · `Floating`      |
| **When collapsed**  | `Icons only` · `Hide entirely`      |
| **Menu item style** | `Subtle` · `Pill` · `Rail` · `Bold` |

<Note>
  `Icons only` keeps navigation reachable when collapsed. `Hide entirely` gives the most room to the content but means customers must re-open the sidebar to move around.

## Header

| Setting                     | Options                                             |
| --------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------- |
| **Search position**         | `Left` · `Center` · `Right` · `Hidden`              |
| **Theme toggle**            | `Left` · `Right` · `Hidden`                         |
| **User menu in the header** | On/off — *"Avatar with Account / Plans / Log out."* |

<Warning>
  Setting **Search position** to `Hidden` removes the tool search from the header. On panels with more than a handful of tools, search is how customers actually find things — hide it only if your tool list is genuinely short.
</Warning>

<Tip>
  If you hide the **Theme toggle** here, also set a sensible **Default mode** in [Theme & colour](/customize/appearance/theme) — your customers will have no way to change it.
