# Account, Status and Extension

> The three supporting pages — self-service account management, tool availability, and the browser extension.

## Account

Where a customer changes their own password, checks their plan, and manages their signed-in devices.

<Warning>
  Do not switch this entry off in [Navigation](/customize/appearance/navigation). Every password change and device cleanup becomes a support message to you if you do.

Customers cannot change their own email address, and neither can you — that stays with us. See [Users](/panel/users).

## Status

Shows which tools are working. It is the first thing to check when a customer reports a problem, and it answers most "is it broken or is it me" questions without either of you writing a message.

<Tip>
  Point customers here in your welcome message. A customer who checks Status first sends you far fewer tickets during an outage.

## Extension

Some tools are opened through a browser extension. This page tells your customers how to install and sign in to it, carrying your branding throughout.

<Note>
  Both **Status** and **Extension** are on by default and can be switched off in [Navigation](/customize/appearance/navigation). Switching one off removes the menu entry **and** makes the page unreachable — so if your customers need the extension, leave it on.

## Legal pages and the footer

Every page you publish under [Legal pages](/customize/pages) appears here too, linked from the footer, and is reachable **without signing in**.

There are two footers: the one signed-in customers see, and the public one shown to visitors and payment-gateway reviewers. Published pages are added to both automatically.

  A manual footer link pointing at a different URL from a page you also publish will appear **twice** — de-duplication matches on URL, not label. See [Footer](/customize/appearance/footer).
